Beatrice Ferrara – independent researcher – holds a PhD in “Cultural and Postcolonial Studies of the Anglophone World” (2011). Her research focus is on technoculture (cyber-culture e sonic cultures) from a transcultural perspective. She held research posts at “L’Orientale” in Naples (2011-14), Goldsmiths University of London (2009, as the winner of a EU-funded research bursary), ICI Kulturlabor Berlin (2014-15). She taught “Media and Cultural Studies/(Post-)Subcultures” at “L’Orientale” in Naples (2012-14). Her research has been published in Italian and English in journals such as darkmatter, Body & Society, Im@go. She has also edited collections of essays in Italian and English. Besides, she freelances as a cultural theory translator from English into Italian.
