David Velez

David Velez is a performative, sound and video artist based in Bogotá, Colombia. His work is focused on articulating some questions on the conflicting relation between the way we experience time and the way in which we understand it.  As a performative sound artist, he plays concerts as an extension of his compositional endeavors where sounds sequenced in the computer interact with sounds produced with actual objects on real time. To the date he has performed in festivals and events like Tsonami in Chile, Arteocupa in Brazil, Mutek in Colombia, Aural Detritus in the UK, and in the US on CT-SWaM and [R]ake in NYC and as part of the Hybrid project – directed by Juan Cortés- in the MoMA also in NYC.
