Alessandro Librio was born in Erice (Trapani) in 1982. He is a musician, composer, sound artist, and performer. He graduated in violin at the Conservatory Vincenzo Bellini in Palermo.
He has made recordings for Rai and Sky Arte and collaborated with some of the most influential artists on the international scene such as Patti Smith, Michael Moore, and Wim Wenders. He has recorded various musics for BBC. He also participated as in invited artist in the 54th Biennale in Venice, and created installations for the EB & Flow Gallery and the Waterside Project Space in London, and for the OpenHouse Gallery in New York.
In September 2017 he created his most recent urban sound installation, the majestic “Palermo a Palermo. Il Suono dei fiumi”, curated by Giusi Diana. This is the second act in a trilogy that started in Venice and will be completed in 2020 in New York.
In 2018, in collaboration with N38E13 he took part in an art residency at the Tokas , istitute of contemporary Arts and International Cultural Exchange in Tokyo. He also created the video-sound installation Blind Music for Alfa Romeo Japan at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Tokyo.
